So I had the pleasure of creating a romantic, luxurious, just-the-right-amount of bling invitation for a dear close friend of mine! A bit of background on my friend: we have been friends since high school… those were the days… the 90′s- big hair, hot red nailpolish, and of course groupies. Our group – the ham heads! Don’t even ask. But since then, we have always stayed in touch. Years pass, and whenever we have a chance to press the pause button to meet up even for a cocktail, it seems like time hasn’t even moved since those days in school…. that is when you know you have a true friend.
So Janelle asked me to create her wedding invitation, and I was thrilled! We worked very hard to get the perfect combination of colors and textures for her, to set the tone of her gorgeous lush garden romance feel. The wedding was set at the Boojum Tree, which is one of the most unique places to have a wedding. The invitation is a smooth sand colored metallic pocketfold, and upon opening, reveals a soft pink shimmery floral textured cardstock. The inner card is matted with a darker sand, and the raised printing sits perfectly onto the premium ivory cardstock. The front of the invitation is adorned with coordinating patterns and a black satin ribbon that ties around the entire invitation. Now no item (per Janelle) is complete without crystals… so we added some soft pink crystals to the front and inside of the invitation. The pocket of the invitation was lined with the pink floral cardstock, and fit the two inserts snugly for their guests. Of course the fun doesn’t stop there! The invitation is placed into a matching envelope, lined with the pink floral paper, and then placed into an outer envelope, by which Janelle outsourced calligraphy for her addresses. Talk about a fabulous presentation for her gorgeous wedding!
I also created matching elements such as the bird cage sign, escort card signage, menus, and programs for her event.
Might I add, that I of course attended…. I attached some of my personally favorite photos…and we had an amazing time (even being over 5 months pregnant)! It was stepping into a romance novel. The flowers, the photobooth, the chandeliers, the CANDY TABLE (hello!). We had a great time, and best of all, I got to see my beautiful friend walk down the aisle with her gorgeous soul mate.
Love you hammie, I know you will have the happiest “ever after” ! :)

I also have the privelege of being part of this wedding as it has been featured on Style Me Pretty! Click here for more fabulous photos and inspiration for this gorgeous wedding!

Looking for a stylish and modern wedding invitation for your upcoming big day? My Spanish bride did! She was very much so into the feel of papers and how textures can create another layer of sophistication with her wedding stationary.
She decided on a metallic platinum silver pocketfold invitation, which opens up horizontally and inserts are inserted vertically. The invitation is accented on the front with a beautiful textured turquoise band wrap slide with a triple layer monogram seal. Upon opening, the main card is revealed with a double matte border, and the inserts coordinate with the differently textured white cardstocks, and includes a matching RSVP envelope. Different textures was used for the main invite as well as inserts to create a visual dimension.
This handmade invitation is sure to impress your guests and give a feeling of glamour and sophistication!

So this wedding invitation just spells out cool, modern, hip, California! I can’t say enough about how much excitement I had designing this work of art & how much I enjoyed working with the couple. Did I mention, that I have known the bride since middle school! She lived about 3 blocks down from me growing up, and I can say that I have several memories of our fun days of high school…. So when she asked if I would create a unique handmade wedding invitation for her, I was thrilled!
I used envelopments products to create this beautiful vacation for the eyes. This invitation is a cool belize blue pocketfold, layered with a fun floral pattern in tones of grey. The inner invitation is printed on a soft grey cardstock and bordered with metallic platinum silver cardstock. The inserts were printed to coordinate, as well as the artwork. The inner pocket was also lined in the metallic platinum as well as the RSVP postcard. The outer invitation was layered with a hint of the pattern, as well as their monogram. Each pocketfold invitation then was presented in a coordinating envelope, with an address bandwrap in silver metallic that wrapped around their invitation to help seal the envelope.
Sara & Eric’s photographers, Zelo Photography, just did an exceptional job capturing their unique and amazing wedding (not to mention the above photos of their wedding invitation).
I can only wish the happy couple a fantastic ‘ever after’ as they are so made for eachother!

IMG_3031.JPGOn Earth! and this couple decided to have all their friends and family witness their love here. Disneyland!

I was so excited to create such a unique invitation for this couple. From the very start she knew exactly what she was looking for, and these invitations sure were something to talk about! The outer invitation was accented with their monogram and a fun flirty purple feather and the inside gave a classy elegance with the patterned cardstock & style of the petal fold.

It was my pleasure to create such fabulous invitations & I cannot wish more happiness upon Tara & Frank, and undoubtedly their exciting new path as husband & wife.

This invitation reminds me of a smooth elegant tie….. it is a sleek yet with a modern twist on a traditional invitation. The hint of black cardstock adds to the formality, while the smooth black, silver &  ivory layers give a luxe bridal feel. The pocketfold is in a plumes black & silver cardstock, with a darker platinum border on the interior. All cards were printed on high quality cardstock, and the invitation was closed with a monogram seal.

I have to say I really enjoyed working with Sierra on this invitation! She was a bride who really cared about her invitations and we worked and modified until we got it exactly perfect! I truly wish her and her husband-to-be the best of luck with their upcoming wedding!

In fact, I just received an email from Sierra a couple days ago, that made my day! :
” Hi Laura,I just wanted to let you know how great of a response we have received
from everyone receiving our invitations. You did a fabulous job! Just wanted
to make sure you heard how beautiful everyone said they were! I keep hearing
“I have never seen invitations so beautiful!” Thank you so much again for
all of your hard work! They were just perfect!”

Well! Here it is! The most extravagant invitation I have yet to create! Wow, I was so thrilled to have the opportunity to create such a gorgeous invitation for none-the-less, a gorgeous bride & groom!  The invitation concept of a destination beach wedding was presented before me, and the bride an I worked together to discuss style, textures, paper options and of course the WOW factor!
This invitation starts out in an impressive gold box, wrapped elegantly with a dual soft satin ivory and a flirty sparkle tulle. Once open, the square pocketfold rests onto a natural wood shred. The invite itself is just begging to be opened! With a beautiful natural finger starfish, tied securely with a satin/organza mix ribbon and vellum bandwrap, accented with a regal satin beaded trim, I am not sure if I like the inside or the outside best! The inside  is a mix of a 3-d waffle like textured shimmer paper from Nepal, and a heavyweight exclusive soft white cardstock. Each corner of the invitation is wrapped in ivory satin, and bordered with an antique gold cardstock.
This invitation was such a pleasure to design, and it has been the most labor intensive design yet! Thanks to all my girlfriends, bride, and bridesmaids who came to my rescue! My only sad face through this whole process was that I couldn’t attend this wedding, that I was invited to with such open heartedness! :)

Congratulations Sherri & Matt!

This has to be one of my favorite Wedding Programs I have created! The couple wanted to share with their guests a feel of travel and destination for their upcoming wedding in Tucson, Arizona.

I paired together a textured dark blue cardstock with a light pale green booklet. Gold staples were used to bind the passport and pages together. Complete with their photo and some inventive wording… it truly did resemble that of a passport.

The front had a seal in gold and “PASSPORT” written across the top with a gold metallic pen. Yes, I have good handwriting too!

Love is in the air— especially in Spring! This beautiful invitation is using Envelopments white shimmer pocketfolds, along with layers of mango and pollen yellow cardstock. Butterflies were used throughout the stationary, including thank you cards, escort cards, table number and menus.
A small crystal adorned the sweet butterfly on the front seal.
I am so excited to see some pictures of this elegant affair, held at the Wrigley Mansion. I think it will be spectacular.
Also, this invitation is featured on Emmaline Bride!

This invitation is modern, classy and warm.. I just adore the chocolate brown and the mango orange paired together with the crisp clean soft white cardstock and simple fonts. The mehndi pattern and satin bow on the seal add to the exotic flair of this beautiful wedding invitation!
Something about the combination of all lower case wording and uppercase wording gives that elegant but unique feel to this invite.
It truly makes me want to stare at a golden sunset in Dubai, but I guess Jasper, Georgia is where the wedding really happened!

One of my favorite wedding destinations, has always been at the Hotel De
Coronado in San Diego California.
I just remember this as our ‘spot’ for all vacations, as it was just a
little bit more of a true relaxation spot for us…. less populated,
cleaner sands, and seemed to be farther away than the typical beaches.
The Hotel certainly has quite the draw: preppy locals mixed with the
tourist; barefooted children with melted icecream cones, and old folks
drinking scotch on the cobblestone entry to the bar.
It was my pleasure to create this unique invitation… I had so
much fun with it. Although it was several years ago, it was my first
boxed invitation and wanted to share it with you all! The shells that
were used on this invitation were hand selected in Coronado by the
couple for use, and holding the inserts inside the box were pebbles
glued down with shimmery gold hot glue. The invitation itself rested on top of the pebbles in each corner, then when lifted, revealed the inserts nestled in the center. Natural twine ribbon as well as fine shimmery papers and textures complete this unique beach themed wedding invitation.

  • Howdy! This is my 1st comment here so I just wanted to give a quick shout out and tell you I genuinely enjoy reading your posts. Can you recommend any other blogs/websites/forums that cover the same subjects? Thanks!
